Ants and Mice invading Albuquerque and Santa Fe when weather gets COLD
You may have noticed some unwanted guest during this last cold spell we had here in New Mexico. Ants and Mice get cold outside and make there way in. This is a great time to whip out the silicone gun and start sealing up the small holes around windows and doors. Replacing the weather stripping around your entrance and garage doors is also a great way to keep heat in and other things out. Check under your sink and make sure the water pipes are sealed up. This is the cause of 90% of ant infestations inside the home. When a home is built, the contractors leave a hole in the concrete foundation to allow your plumbing pipes to enter your home. This means there is just dirt surround your pipes. Ants love to use this as there own little super highway right into your home. Sealing up around your plumbing pipes will help in the Ant battle. Of course, I've said it before but I'll say it again, Ant colonies must be eliminated in order to stop the ant infestation. The only way to achieve this is through a baiting program. DO NOT SPRAY FOR ANTS.
