How We Became "The Genuine Ones" Of Pest Control
FALL 2019
Owner Kelsey Montgomery worked for a competitor door-to-door sales company that prioritized taking advantage of customers over quality servicing while living in a camper in Hutchinson, KS, wheile obtaining his firefighter credentials
MAY 2020
Kelsey began his own professional pest management operation and landed on the name of Real Pest Solutions after revisions from "No Bull Pest Control" and "Noble Pest Solutions," outlining the honest, transparent, and genuine servicing efforts that he was going to perform.
DECEMBER 2020
Acquired first Real Pest Solutions "bug truck"—a 1997 F150 in pristine condition won from auction for $5,000. Had to drive to Oklahoma to obtain it!
JANUARY 2022
Kelsey began to obtain local recognition for offering "no contract" honest pest management services with a focus on doing things the right way the first time. Kelsey hired a firefighter on a different shift to help out when he was at the fire station and purchased an additional vehicle for the pest control fleet, a 2009 Ford F150 with 150,000 miles on it! It even came with a topper shell.
JUNE 2022
Real Pest Solutions continued to thrive in a post-covid market. We hired a full-time operator (Kelsey's friend from high school) as well as added a used 2016 Chevy Colorado to the team which officially made it a true "fleet" of genuine servicing vehicles!
FEBRUARY 2023
Kelsey left working for the fire department full time and ran operations with the (now solo) full-time operator as their success in "making people happy" soared. Real Pest Solutions also invested in a professional pest management software for the first time... no more excel sheets!
APRIL 2023
Real Pest Solutions obtained their "new to them" office located at 330 S. Kansas Ave. in Olathe, KS after working from multiple different garages since 2020. They also brought on a 2nd full-time member, making it 3 fulltime employees!
JANUARY 2024
Real Pest Solutions expanded to utilizing an actual payroll software after gaining 2 additional full-time operators and an additional servicing vehicle. Insurance became expensive and the internal company objective was becoming "The Genuine Ones!" by continuing our efforts of providing strictly genuine, honest, and transparent service. Turns out people enjoy those qualities in a service company!
JUNE 2024
Real Pest Solutions observed multiple deficits in the "multifamily servicing" sector for professional pest management services and opened their first "multifamily team" consisting of two designated operators in one vehicle to maintain our premier servicing standards for homes and apartment communities alike!
MARCH 2025
Real Pest Solutions expanded into having dedicated full-time office staffing to ensure consistent communication between our customers and field service operators. Real Pest continued to thrive in the market by offering unique and tailored experiences with different divisions of providers such as designated wildlife operators, multifamily teams, and termite remediators.
By continuing to provide hassle-free servicing with no mandatory contracts, absolutely no door-to-door sales, and never selling our customers (and friends!) services they don't need, Real Pest Solutions expanded to nearly 10 field operators and 3 office members dedicated to helping others.
JANUARY 2026
Real Pest Solutions continues its mission as a non-franchised local premier pest management service with a focus on doing things the right way the first time"and never selling services that their customers don't need—especially without mandatory multi-year servicing contracts.
